Faculty and Staff Mobilities

UCV promotes the internationalisation of teaching and research staff (PDI) and administrative and support staff (PAS) through:

  • International mobility for teaching or training
  • Internationalisation at home initiatives such as virtual exchanges (COIL), receiving staff from other institutions, or organising international weeks
  • The acquisition of English language skills to provide an academic offer and a set of services adapted to the needs of an international environment

The invitation of professionals from companies using Erasmus funds to give lectures or workshops in undergraduate, master's programmes, international weeks, etc.

Through Erasmus international teaching mobilities, UCV’s academic staff may:

  • Teach classes at international partner institutions
  • Strengthen ties with other institutions: universities, companies, schools, research institutes, hospitals, clinics, libraries, etc.
  • Meet counterparts and professionals in the same sector
  • Exchange good practices
  • Learn about other educational programmes and new teaching methods

Research Mobility Funds EU-CONEXUS-RFS, mobility grants for UCV doctoral students

Goals:

  • Promote short stays in higher education institutions to deliver teaching
  • Enable students to benefit from the knowledge and experience of academics from other countries
  • Encourage the exchange of skills and experience in pedagogical methods
  • Possibility to undertake a combined mobility for teaching and training

Teaching hours:

  • Teaching mobility: minimum of 8 teaching hours per stay

Blended mobility: possibility of combining at least 4 teaching hours with training

UCV staff have the option to carry out mobilities in the countries listed below through the Erasmus+ KA131

programme, or in other countries worldwide through the Erasmus+ KA171 programme.

Duration

• Minimum: 2 days

• Maximum: 2 months, but only 5 days will be funded, including travel days.

Erasmus+ KA171 Programme:

For countries outside the KA131 area, UCV offers grants at various universities each year through the

Erasmus+ KA171 programme. For more information, please refer to the most recent call for applications

(PDF).

Duration

• Minimum: 5 activity days at the host institution + 2 travel days

• Maximum: 2 months, but only 7 days will be funded

Grants

The programme is funded by the European Union through the Spanish National Erasmus+ Agency (SEPIE).

The financial support contributes to covering Travel expenses and Daily subsistence cost

This amount is calculated based on the distance between UCV and the host university, using the official Erasmus+ distance calculator. The amount granted depends on the travel distance and whether a sustainable mode of transport is used:

Modes of transport considered sustainable by the EU:

  • Bicycle
  • Bus
  • Carpooling
  • Train

This is a daily amount depending on the destination country (see table below), multiplied by the number of days of mobility (up to a maximum of 5 days for the KA131 programme, including 1 or 2 travel days, and 7 days for the KA171 programme, including 2 travel days).

The financial support will be paid via bank transfer in two instalments:

  • 70% before the mobility (once the required steps are completed)
  • 30% after the mobility (once all required documentation has been submitted).

Procedures

How to manage your mobility

All procedures are carried out via the intranet: Departments → International → PAS/PDI Mobility Application. On the homepage, you will find a manual that serves as a guide throughout the process.

Steps to complete before the mobility:

  • Application form
  • Mobility Agreement
  • Insurance: travel, accident and health, and repatriation
  • European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) (if applicable)
  • Grant Agreement

Steps to complete after the mobility:

  • Submit a summary of your mobility experience, including photos and two good practices, to the International Relations Office
  • Upload to the intranet the original Certificate of Attendance, signed and stamped by the host institution, along with flight tickets/boarding passes or other travel documents
  • Complete the EU online mobility survey, which you will receive by email.

Recognition

Academic career:

UCV values international mobility as part of the academic career progression of teaching staff. Specifically, it recognises any international teaching or training stay on a per day basis.
