1st year

 

First Year Scholarships are available to all incoming undergraduate students who meet the requirements. It will deduct €2,000 from the first-year tuition fees for recipients or up to 50% of tuition fees for recipients with musical talent and are part of the UCV musical group.   

All applicants must have confirmed their reservation and meet the minimum grade requirement for their major. Applications must be submitted electronically via the student Intranet.

The UCV Excellence Scholarships are awarded to outstanding first-year students entering any undergraduate degree programme. These scholarships cover 100% of tuition fees and are available to applicants with an excellent academic record—at least an 8.5 GPA in Bachillerato or a 9.0 in a higher vocational training programme (9.0+ required for Medicine and Dentistry). Applications must be submitted online through the UCV Electronic Office.

The UCV Academic and Financial Aid Scholarships are available to undergraduate and official master’s students, based on academic performance and per capita income. These competitive scholarships help cover tuition fees and are only available to students who are enrolled at UCV and are not receiving other scholarships* (with the exception of large family or early/single payment discounts). Applications must be submitted via the student Intranet by registering and uploading the required documents. Selection is based on academic record, financial circumstances, and housing status during the academic year.

UCV Accommodation Scholarships offer discounts on student housing for the academic year through agreements with various student residences. All students enrolled in or admitted to any official UCV degree programme who have secured a place in a partnered residence are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted online via the UCV Electronic Office, along with academic transcripts, proof of income, and a personal statement. Family unit composition, financial status, and other personal circumstances will be taken into account during the evaluation process.    

Deadlines for submission and notification are to be determined. 

These national grants may cover tuition fees, fixed housing and income-related allowances, and a variable amount based on academic performance and financial need. All students who meet the Ministry’s annual requirements may apply.

Each year, Generalitat Valenciana offers different types of scholarships and grants for higher education studies. Please check their website for more information here.

The scholarships can cover academic or tuition fees, for both undergraduate and postgraduate students that meet the annual requirements.  

The CERMI-Capacitas Scholarships, offered by UCV in collaboration with CERMI-CV, provide financial support to students with legally recognized disabilities (33% or higher) who are enrolling for the first time in an official undergraduate degree. The scholarship covers 50% of tuition costs and aims to promote equal opportunities and improve long-term employment prospects. Applications can be submitted in person at the Disability Support Office or via email at: oficinadiscapacidad@ucv.es. Required documents include academic records, CV, disability certificate, income statement, and ID.

The Banco Santander Financial Aid Scholarships are open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher vocational training students enrolled for the academic year at participating Spanish universities or affiliated training centers—including new students. Over 8,000 scholarships are available to help cover expenses such as housing, study materials, or transportation. Applications are open to all students, regardless of whether they are Banco Santander.

The Santander Excellence 360º Scholarships award to undergraduate students enrolled at participating Spanish universities. These prestigious grants recognize outstanding academic achievement and meaningful engagement in university life, including internships, extracurricular training, international experience, and social or community involvement. Additional consideration is given to students who have overcome personal challenges, including those with certified disabilities (33% or more) or special educational needs. Each university may apply its own specific eligibility criteria, so applicants should check their institution’s requirements.

Support Programme for Elite and High-Level Athletes

The UCV Elite Athlete Support Programme helps top-level athletes balance academic and sports commitments by offering personalized tutoring, flexible scheduling, exam accommodations, and access to UCV clinics. It’s open to athletes recognized at the national or regional level, including those listed in the BOE, DOGV, or as UCV performance athletes. Applications are accepted throughout the academic year.

"Trinidad Alfonso Foundation" Awards for university athletes from Valencian universities

The Fundación Trinidad Alfonso (FTA) and CADU offer two awards—one male and one female—for UCV students who demonstrate both academic and athletic excellence during the academic year.

"Trinidad Alfonso Foundation" Awards for university athletes graduated from Valencian universities

The Fundación Trinidad Alfonso (FTA) awards two prizes of €2,000—one for a male and one for a female—honoring outstanding student-athletes who completed an official undergraduate or master’s degree at a Valencian university during the academic year. Each winner receives a diploma, commemorative plaque, and cash prize.

University Student Athlete Awards

The UCV Sports Awards recognize student-athletes enrolled in official undergraduate or master’s programmes during the academic year who have represented UCV in university sports. A total of 50 prizes ranging from €100 to €500 will be awarded, equally split between male and female categories.

From 2nd Year +

 

The UCV Collaboration Grants offer 165 general and 10 research-based positions with a 50% tuition discount in exchange for 320 hours of work in university departments aligned with each student's field of study. Open to UCV undergraduate students entering 2nd to 6th year.

Submission of the previous year’s income tax return or equivalent certificate is required.

The Spanish Ministry of Education Scholarships are national study grants that may cover tuition fees, fixed housing and income-based allowances, and a variable amount based on academic and financial circumstances. All students who meet the Ministry’s annual requirements may apply.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the Ministry’s portal here.

The MEFP Collaboration Grant offers €2,000 to one UCV student for participation in a research project tied to the university’s academic lines. It involves 3 hours of research assistance per day for 7.5 months and is compatible with other UCV and Ministry grants. Eligible applicants are final-year undergraduates (with at least 75% of credits completed) or first-year master’s students who meet specific GPA thresholds.

Applications must be submitted online via the Ministry’s electronic office along with the required forms and project proposal.

Discounts

 

As part of its social commitment, UCV offers a range of tuition discounts for eligible students.

If you meet the conditions, you can apply within the established deadlines via the student intranet or by emailing admissions@ucv.es.

Discounts cannot be combined, except for the 3% early payment discount.

Application Deadline

Discount requests must be submitted before 1 November of the current academic year. If multiple non-combinable discounts apply, the one most beneficial to the student will be granted.

Discount: 100% (special category) or 50% (general category) off tuition fees.

Who can apply: Students who are part of officially recognized large families.

Requirements: Valid official large family certificate.

Discount: 100% off tuition fees.

Who can apply: Students from officially recognized single-parent families (special category).

Requirements: Valid official certificate confirming this status.

Discount: 100% off tuition fees.

Who can apply: Students with a recognized disability.

Requirements: Official disability certificate (minimum 33%).

  • If the disability is below 66%, the family income must not exceed €60,101 (income statement required).
  • If the disability is 66% or higher, no income documentation is needed.
  • Victims of Terrorism Scholarship

Discount: 50% off the tuition fee of the programme with the lowest cost.

Who can apply: Families with two or more members enrolled in official undergraduate or postgraduate programmes (PhDs excluded).

Requirements: Belong to the same household.* (If any student earns more than €8,101 individually, the discount does not apply.)

Documentation: Family record book.

Who can apply: Students officially recognized as elite athletes.

Requirements: Submit BOE or DOGV publication confirming elite athlete status (issued within the last 3 years).

Santander Bank offers flexible student loans to help cover tuition or the full cost of undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Spain or abroad. Options include short-term tuition loans and full-degree financing, with competitive rates and flexible repayment plans.

CajaMar Bank offers special financing options specifically for students at the Catholic University of Valencia, including tuition advances and full study loans. Bankinter offers fully online student loans to finance undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The loan can cover tuition, materials, transport, or living expenses, with flexible repayment terms. No enrollment documents are required—just proof of income and no credit defaults. More information here.

Caixa Popular offers fully online University Loans, covering the full cost of a degree with extended repayment terms, including a grace period. Loans have a fixed interest rate, opening fee, and an early repayment fee, with funds disbursed annually upon presentation of enrollment documentation. More information here.

 

Insurance

 

The Catholic University of Valencia offers a Continuity of Studies Insurance that guarantees full coverage of tuition fees if a student’s parent or legal guardian passes away during the academic year.

Available to all undergraduate students, this insurance ensures they can complete their degree without financial interruption. It can be contracted during enrollment or later via the faculty office.

Annual costs range depending on the student’s year of study. If contracted after first year, a health questionnaire may be required. For more information here.
