Presentation
Mountain Sports show an exponential increase in practitioners and socioeconomic interest. This sector generates wealth, employment and welfare among societies that are committed to its development. The latest official studies (CSD, 2022) show that physical-sports activities in nature are the most practiced and with the best future projection among users. The congress will offer a scientific-professional conference specific to mountain sports, but with a global and integrative approach. Addressing the sports, health, tourism, socio-economic, education, inclusion and sustainability aspects. With a clear international vocation, it will bring together leading professionals, specialists, researchers and institutions in the sector. This conference aims to be a meeting forum to showcase where the current and future situation of the international scenario will be shown from a scientific and professional point of view, as well as to analyze the main reference models to be studied. The 2nd International Congress of Hiking and Mountain Sports and 3rd International Congress Women and Mountain is co-organized by the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences of the UCV and the Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing.
***The congress will also include a working day of the Scientific Advisory Board of the FEDME Mountains.
***The official languages of the congress will be Spanish and English, remembering that there will be no simultaneous translation.
Papers
Rules
- A maximum of 2 papers will be accepted for the same person.
- At least 50% of the authors of the accepted papers must be registered.
- Papers with more than 3 authors will not be accepted.
Submission
Paper proposals should be sent to the following e-mail address: hikingconference2024@ucv.es
Only the following data should be included:
1.- Title.
2.- Author/s.
3.- Abstract of up to 400 words, with a maximum of 3 bibliographical references. The text will include a brief section on methodology and conclusions.
4.- Thematic area: It will be indicated in which of the 4 thematic areas the communication falls within:
- Performance and Competition.
- Women and Mountain.
- Tourism, Sustainability and Management.
- Society, Education and Inclusion.
5.- Contact e-mail.
Deadlines
- Submission between March 1 and July 1, 2024..
- Confirmation of acceptance before September 15, 2024.
Publication
An agreement has been reached with the journal SOCIOLOGÍA DEL DEPORTE for the publication of a special issue with the best contributions (to be decided by the scientific committee).
Likewise, the publication of another special issue is being negotiated with other indexed journals, the result of which information will be provided in due course.
In both publications, the Scientific Committee, after the Congress, will invite the best papers presented to submit a proposal of article for peer review and, if necessary, publication in the mentioned journals.
Registration
There will be 2 registration deadlines:
- The first registration deadline will end on September 15, with a price of 130 €.
- and a second deadline until November 10 with a cost of 180 €.
- Special price of 100 € for university students, UCV staff, members of COLEF, FEDME, FEDO and FEMECV (you must attach proof in force).
