Study of the reproductive characteristics of the octopus (Octopus vulgaris) in the waters of the Valencian Community

Description: This project is an effort to explore the reproductive characteristics of the octopus (Octopus vulgaris) at different points on the coast of the Valencian Community in order to establish the closed periods for artisanal octopus fishing, as well as the minimum size of catches, in order to conserve the resource. The reproductive cycle of the species in different areas of the Valencian Community coast will be studied. Moreover, the size of the first maturity of the species will be established and a proposal of the closed seasons for the octopus on the coast of the Valencian Community will be developed, as a result of the analysis of the data collected in the study.
