Dr. Omar Sakr

Omar is passionate about using tourism to support local communities and economies, protect the environment, and make the outdoor more accessible to everyone. 

He is the current Executive Director at the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association (LMTA) where he also served as President of the Association and is also a board member of the World Trails Network. 

Omar has previously assumed senior HR and Sustainability managerial positions in the private sector and more specifically in the Hospitality field. He has also worked as consultant and trainer in Hospitality, Rural Tourism and ISO 26000 for social responsibility in various organizations in Lebanon, the Gulf and East Africa. 

He is a senior lecturer in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management at Notre Dame University.
