Carles Sanchis Ibor is a PhD researcher at the Research Center on Irrigation and Mediterranean Agrosystems at the Universitat Politècnica de València and lecturer at the Universitat de València, with three decades of experience in water and wetland studies. His research focuses on water governance, irrigation systems, and the interaction between water management, rivers, flooding processes, and Mediterranean wetlands.

He plays an active role in wetland conservation and environmental governance. He is a founding member of the Assut Foundation for the protection of traditional agricultural systems and Mediterranean wetlands, has served as President of the Governing Board of the Albufera de València Natural Park, and chaired its Scientific Committee
